Prolonged services definition
Prolonged services means face-to-face client ser- vices furnished by a provider, either in the inpatient or outpa- tient setting, which involve time beyond what is usual for such services. The time counted toward payment for pro- longed E&M services includes only face-to-face contact between the provider and the client, even if the service was not continuous.
