A Project Based Position means a position, regardless of funding source of limited duration not to exceed three years to be utilized to complete a project or for an external grant funded position whose funding is uncertain as to amount or duration.
Any employee hired from the outside to temporarily backfill a vacancy created by the appointment of a career employee to a Project Based Position shall have no retention rights under the Layoff Policy and shall be subject to bumping by career employees.
