PRN Employee definition
PRN Employee is an employee hired to cover vacations, sick leave, or 13 unforeseen needs and is not regularly scheduled to work. A PRN 14 employee is employed to work on an intermittent basis as needed. A PRN 15 employee without a permanent assignment must be available to work at 16 least 8 (eight) shifts in a six (6)-month period to retain status as a PRN 17 employee. A PRN employee shall indicate their availability to the Hospital 18 on a monthly basis. Low census days shall count as days worked for 19 purposes of this section. A PRN employee does not accrue benefits. 20 Termination of employment may result if a PRN employee is unavailable 21 for work or has not worked during the six (6)-month period.

Examples of PRN Employee in a sentence
A PRN Employee who does not work at least one (1) eight (8) hour shift every 45 days will be considered to have voluntarily terminated.
