Private residence elevator. (residential elevator) means a power passenger elevator which is limited in size, capacity, rise and speed and is installed in a private residence or multiple dwelling as a means of access to a private resi- dence provided the elevators are so installed that they are not accessible to the general public or to other occupants in the building.
