Private dance. , as used herein, means any dance held at any single family home in the City, or any dance given by permanently organized clubs, fraternal organizations, societies or corporations, where the attendance is restricted to the members of the club, organization, society, or corporation, or the guests of the club, organization, society or corporation are admitted by individual invitation only, and from which guests no fee, payment or token of any kind is or will be received, and no lease payment or rental has been or will be received.
Private dance means a dance of 20 or more individuals which is limited to those persons individually invited to which no admission charge is made or a dance conducted by a bona fide club, society or association, organized or incorporated for benevolent, charitable, dramatic, literary or dancing purposes, having an established membership and which holds meetings other than such dances at regular intervals and when the proceeds, if any, of such dance are used for the purposes of such club, society or association.
Private dance. A dance designated for a closed list of invitees where dancing is permitted, at which no admission fee is charged, or for which no compensation is in any manner received, either directly or indirectly, by cover charge or otherwise, or where refreshments or food or any form of merchandise are served for no compensation before, during or after dancing. Events such as birthday parties, student organization socials, etc. where a live performance (i.e. a DJ) is held or dance music is played fall under this definition.
