Priority employment definition
Priority employment means the non-competitive administrative placement of an employee or former employee on a certification list for a classification for which the employee or former employee is qualified, at the same or a lower grade, when an employee is disabled according to § 808(a) of the Charter, demoted as a result of a reclassification or reallocation, laid off under § 810 of the Charter, or on an approved leave without pay for more than 60 days in accordance with § 6-1-304(c).
Priority employment means that a disabled worker is given the priority if a job for a disabled worker is vacant. Employers provide these jobs. What sort of jobs are they, is depending on the employer. How many people with disabilities are working at the mean stream labour market is not published by Statec (the national statistic data base).83
