Prior Authorized definition

Prior Authorized means a system that requires a Provider to get approval from HPN before providing non- emergency healthcare services to a Member in order for those services to be considered Covered Services. Prior Authorization is not an agreement to pay for a service.

Examples of Prior Authorized in a sentence

  • All benefits for Durable Medical Equipment (“DME”) includes administration, maintenance and operating costs of such equipment, if the equipment is Medically Necessary or Prior Authorized.

  • Prior Authorized Services — In-Plan Services, determined to be Medically Necessary, the utilization of which the PH-MCO manages in accordance with Department-approved Prior Authorization policies and procedures.

  • Inpatient Hospital Services must be Prior Authorized except when requesting emergency services.

  • Benefits payable for expenses incurred in connection with Covered Services, which are not Prior Authorized by the Managed Care Program, will be reduced as shown in the Attachment A Benefit Schedule.

  • Prior authorization means that we must approve the Services in advance in order for the Services to be covered.

  • Authorized “Directed” or “Approved” shall mean the authority, direction or approval of the Engineer.

  • Contractors authorized to accompany the Force, or “CAAF,” means contractor personnel, including all tiers of subcontractor personnel, who are authorized to accompany U.S. Armed Forces in applicable operations and have been afforded CAAF status through a letter of authorization. CAAF generally include all U.S. citizen and third-country national employees not normally residing within the operational area whose area of performance is in the direct vicinity of U.S. Armed Forces and who routinely are collocated with the U.S. Armed Forces (especially in non-permissive environments). CAAF status does not apply to contractor personnel in support of applicable operations within the boundaries and territories of the United States.

  • Specifically Authorized Representative (SAR), as used in this clause, means any person the Contracting Officer has so designated by written notice (a copy of which shall be provided to the Contractor) which shall refer to this subparagraph and shall be issued to the designated representative before the SAR exercises such authority.
