Primary Care Parent definition

Primary Care Parent is the parent who: 1) in the case of a pregnancy, is pregnant and will give birth to a child, 2) in the case of an adoption, is designated as providing the primary care for the child, or 3) assumes responsibility for the primary care of the child as a result of the death, abandonment or the inability of the primary care parent to provide care to the child.

  • Primary care physician means a physician qualified to be an attending physician according to ORS 656.005(12)(b)(A) and who is a general practitioner, family practitioner, or internal medicine practitioner.

  • Primary care-giver means a person who assumes the principal role of providing care and attention to a child.
