Preventable definition

Preventable means an incident which a reasonable person (bus driver) would have been able to avoid, and the Safety Committee finds that the driver was negligent. If the incident was preventable, procedures of remedia- tion and disciplinary action shall be implemented accord- ing to the degree of culpability, severity of the incident, and service record of the employee. In the event that the incident is determined to be preventable, then discipli- nary action may be imposed. When disciplinary action is imposed, employees shall be afforded appropriate due process as outlined in Sections 11 and 12 above and in applicable District policies.
