Pressure vacuum breaker definition

Pressure vacuum breaker means an assembly consisting of a device containing one (1) or two (2) independently operating spring loaded check valves and an independently operating spring loaded air inlet valve located on the discharge side of the check valve(s), with tightly closing shut-off valves on each side of the check valves and properly located test cocks for the testing of the check valves and relief valve.
Pressure vacuum breaker means an assembly composed of an independently acting spring loaded check valve located downstream of an independently acting spring loaded air inlet valve including, tightly closing shutoff valves located at each end of the assembly and suitable connections for testing the integrity of the air inlet and check valves.
Pressure vacuum breaker means an approved backflow prevention device which contains a spring loaded check valve and a spring loaded atmospheric vent which opens when the pressure approaches atmospheric. Such a device shall include two tightly closing shut-off valves located at each end of the device and two properly located test ports for testing the device.
