Pressing Necessity definition

Pressing Necessity is defined as any circumstance where an employee is called upon personally to do some act either in performance of a duty or in the protection of a right or necessity which the employee cannot reasonably do outside of duty hours.
Pressing Necessity leave must be taken in whole days.
Pressing Necessity means an unforeseen or emergent situation.

  • Requests for leave of absence for Pressing Necessity and/or Personal/Family Responsibilities shall be made in writing to the employee’s immediate supervisor.

  • Subject to Appendix B of this Agreement, an employee with sufficient cause may be granted Family Responsibility and Pressing Necessity Leave with pay.

  • The application of Pressing Necessity leave shall include emergency attending to an employee’s sick child.

  • Additional days for Pressing Necessity Leave may be approved by the Director upon written request from the teacher.

  • Such leave may be for the purposes of Medical Care, Pressing Necessity, Family Obligations, Mental Health, or days important to employee’s based on religion, culture or ethnicity.
