The DPI-AP and the DPI-SP, with the assistance of a Provincial Programme Coordination Unit (PPCU) headed by a Deputy Director of DPI, shall be responsible for the day-to- day coordination of the Programme implementation on behalf of the Lead Programme Agency-AP and Lead Programme Agency-SP, respectively.
For the purpose of carrying out certain responsibilities of the DPI-AP and DPI-SP hereunder for Programme implementation and coordination, the LPA-AP and the LPA-SP shall establish by decree and thereafter maintain throughout the entire Programme Implementation Period, a Provincial Programme Coordination Unit (PPCU) within each DPI for their respective sub- Programme (the “PPCU-AP” and the “PPCU-SP, respectively; generally, the “PPCU” and when referred to collectively, the “PPCUs”).
Other PPCU staff shall include: a Deputy Provincial Programme Coordinator, two Finance/Account Officers, two Planning and M&E Officers, a Procurement/Provincial Food Aid Coordinator (AP only) and administrative staff.
SP and AP shall be responsible for implementation of Programme activities under their respective sub-Programmes, which shall be supported through the following activities: - establishment of a Provincial Programme Coordination Unit (PPCU) within each Department of Planning and Investment (DPI) of the Programme Provinces, and the establishment of a District Programme Coordination Unit (DPCU) within the District Planning Office (DPO) in each Programme District.
