Post-Accident definition

Post-Accident means an occurrence associated with the Covered Employee’s operation of equipment or the operation of a vehicle (including, but not limited to, any SFMTA owned or personal vehicles) used during the course of the Covered Employee’s work day if, as a result:
Post-Accident. After involvement in an automobile accident while on duty, a police officer will be subject to post-accident drug and alcohol testing if any one of the following conditions is met: • The vehicle operated by the employee was in motion and there is $5,000 or more damage to any vehicle involved in the accident and the employee was found at fault by the OIC or investigating officer. • Any person injured in the accident is transported from the scene by ambulance or is seeking medical attention and the employee was found at fault by the OIC or investigating officer • Subsequent to any on-duty discharge of a Police Department issued or authorized firearm, other than for firearms training, legitimate competition, target practice at an approved range or to end the suffering of a severely injured animal. The employee will submit a test sample, and said sample will be held until an investigation determines whether such discharge was justified or not justified. If the investigation determines the discharge was justified, the sample will be discarded.
Post-Accident. After involvement in an automobile accident while on duty, a firefighter will be subject to post-accident drug and alcohol testing if any one of the following conditions is met: • The vehicle operated by the employee was in motion and there is $5,000 or more damage to any vehicle involved in the accident and the employee was found at fault by the OIC or investigating officer. • Any person injured in the accident is transported from the scene by ambulance or is seeking medical attention and the employee was found at fault by the OIC or investigating officer. Return to Duty: A return-to-duty drug and/or alcohol test is required after assessment by a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and completion of treatment, if any is required, when an employee tests positive in a drug and alcohol testing program, before that firefighter is allowed to perform their regular duties. To pass, an alcohol test must have a result of less than 0.02 alcohol concentration, and a drug test must be a verified negative test result. Without a successful test result, that individual is not medically qualified to continue to perform work- related functions.

More Definitions of Post-Accident

Post-Accident means that the employee has been involved in a workplace accident or an incident that qualifies as OSHA recordable, or that results in property damage estimated at or in excess of five hundred dollars ($500).
Post-Accident means an occurrence involving a commercial motor vehicle operating on a public road which results in: 1) a fatality; 2) bodily injury requiring medical treatment away from the scene of the accident; or 3) one or more motor vehicles must be towed away.
