Positive Ignition engine (PI) definition

Positive Ignition engine (PI) means an ICE in which combustion is initiated by a localised high temperature in the combustion chamber produced by energy supplied from a source external to the engine.

  • Compression Ignition Engine means an internal combustion engine with operating characteristics significantly similar to the theoretical diesel combustion cycle. The regulation of power by controlling fuel supply in lieu of a throttle is indicative of a compression ignition engine.

  • Alternative nicotine product means any noncombustible product containing nicotine that is intended 766 for human consumption, whether chewed, absorbed, dissolved, or ingested by any other means. 767 "Alternative nicotine product" does not include any nicotine vapor product, tobacco product, or product 768 regulated as a drug or device by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under Chapter V (21 769 U.S.C. § 351 et seq.) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

  • Beam axis means a line from the source through the centers of the x-ray fields.
