Position Class definition

Position Class means the same as “Class” (note that a class may include only one position, in which event it is defined as a “single position class”).
Position Class or “Class,” (a class may include only one position, in which event, it is defined as a "single position class") a group of positions in the Town’s service sufficiently similar in respect to duties and responsibilities so that the same descriptive title may be used to designate each position to the class, that the same qualifications shall be required of the incumbents, that the same test of fitness may be used to choose qualified employees, and that the same scale of compensation can be made to apply with equity.

Examples of Position Class in a sentence

  • The Employee Relations Representative will provide the Union with written notice when new non-exempt regular staff positions are added to the Position Class Description List.

  • If the Position Class Description is being added due to a restructure that involves more than 5 existing employees in this position, the Union will be advised of the number of initial employees being considered for this change.

  • The class specifications for the Inside, Outside and Recreation Division shall be in accordance with the Position Class Specification Manual duly executed between the Corporation of the City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Civic Employees Union, C.U.P.E. Local 626.

  • Either Management or the Union may submit a request for Position Class Specification or re-evaluation.
