Portable Format definition

Portable Format means a structured file format, such as XML or ASCII, that is both human-readable and machine-readable.
Portable Format means to the extent technically feasible a structured, commonly used, machine readable, readily usable format that allows the consumer to transmit the Covered Personal Information to another entity or controller without hindrance, as further specified in the Privacy Laws.

Examples of Portable Format in a sentence

  • Delivery of a counterpart signature page by facsimile transmission or by e-mail transmission of an Adobe Portable Format file (or similar electronic record) shall be effective as delivery of an executed counterpart signature page.

  • The purpose of DMG is to support the advancement of data mining standards, such as the Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML) and the Portable Format for Analytics (PFA) and related standards.

  • The SHPO shall receive one (1) copy of that document, bound and on acid-free paper and one (1) electronic copy in Adobe® Portable Format (.pdf).
