phytosanitary requirement definition
phytosanitary requirement means any condition to be met on import by a consignment of plants, plant products or other regulated articles from a particular origin, having as its purpose the prevention of the introduction or spread of quarantine pests or the limitation of the economic impact of regulated non-quarantine pests;
phytosanitary requirement means the requirement of plant quarantine authority of any country to prevent against the spread of pest into the country by means of importing activities. This requirement is in accordance with the International Plant Protection Conve ntion – 1951.
