Personal Item definition

Personal Item means an item of Baggage carried on board an aircraft by a Passenger for storage under a seat, or overhead bin, for which ExpressJet has not charged a fee or issued a bag claim number to the Passenger. Optional Service(s) means products and services that are not required to be purchased for travel on ExpressJet and, depending on the brand of the flight operated, may include advance seat assignments, pets transported in the cabin, Baggage and other services. Passengers should check the Attachments for a detailed list of Optional Services and the associated charges. Qualified Individual with a Disability means any person who has a physical or mental impairment that, on a permanent or temporary basis, substantially limits one or more major life activities, has a record of such an impairment, or is regarded as having such an impairment. This term is further defined and applied by ExpressJet as set forth in Part 382 of the DOT regulations, 14 CFR Part 382. Reservation means a space on a specific date and on a specific flight of ExpressJet which has been purchased by a Passenger.
Personal Item means a small bag, such as handbag, backpack or laptop bag that passengers are permitted to bring into the aircraft cabin, subject to size, weight and quantity limitations set by the operating air carrier. Such an item must be capable of being safely stowed under the seat in front of the passenger.
Personal Item. : means a small bag or an article with maximum dimensions of 40x30x15cm that the air carrier shall allow the passenger to carry on board, on condition that it fits under the front seat and complies with applicable security requirements.

Examples of Personal Item in a sentence

  • Federal law prohibits hazardous materials from being included in Checked baggage, Gate-Checked baggage or in any Personal Item.

  • These are permitted onboard the aircraft for transport as Checked baggage, Gate Checked baggage or as a Personal Item.

  • While use is not permitted at any time, Cape Air accepts onboard the aircraft for transport as Checked baggage, Gate Checked baggage, or as a Personal Item POCs that meet FAA acceptance criteria for carriage.

  • One Personal Item and up to 3 small bags (or items suitably secure for transport) are accepted in lieu of the Standard Free Bag Allowance so long as all items, when weighed together, do not exceed 50 lbs.

  • Passengers may carry only one Personal Item and one Carry-on Luggage in the cabin included in the baggage allowance of the Light Fare.

  • Personal Items in excess of these dimensions but within the size and weight limits of a Personal Item may not be carried on board the aircraft but shall be accepted by Cape Air and stowed by a Cape Air agent into the designated baggage compartment prior to boarding.
