Performatively definition
Performatively means that “discourses constitute the objects of which they speak”. This way performative theory is different to social constructivism, because it puts an emphasis to materialization instead of construction, giving equal importance to both ideational and material side of the discourse, which interact with each other through the continuous process of “citation and recitation”.
