Penetration Tests definition

Penetration Tests shall be in the form of attacks on the Contractor’s computer system, with the purpose of discovering security weaknesses which have the potential to gain access to the Processing Environment’s features and data. The “Vulnerability Assessment” shall be designed and executed to define, identify, and classify the security holes (vulnerabilities) in the Processing Environment. The Contractor shall allow the State, at its option, to perform Penetration Tests and Vulnerability Assessments on the Processing Environment.

Penetration Tests shall be in the form of attacks on the Contractor’s computer system, with the purpose of discovering security weaknesses which have the potential to gain access to the Processing Environment’s features and data. The “Vulnerability Assessment” shall be designed and executed to define, identify, and classify the security holes (vulnerabilities) in the Processing Environment. The Contractor shall make high- level summary reports (including, for example, letters of attestation) of the Penetration Tests available to the State detailing the scope, general results, and remediation status or plan.

Examples of Penetration Tests in a sentence

  • The Contractor must annually perform Penetration Tests and Vulnerability Assessments against its Processing Environment.

  • The government is responsible for providing the Security/Risk Assessment and Penetration Tests.

  • The Client declares and guarantees to OVHcloud that all the conditions for conducting the Penetration Tests stipulated herein will be respected, including by the auditor who acts under the full responsibility of the Client.

  • The conditions whereby the Client entrusts the third party auditor with the performance of the Penetration Tests are the subject of a separate agreed concluded between the Client and the auditor, and include all the conditions of this article.

Related to Penetration Tests

  • Penetration Testing means security testing in which assessors mimic real-world attacks to identify methods for circumventing the security features of an application, system, or network. (NIST SP 800-115)

  • Percolation test means a subsurface soil test at the depth of a proposed absorption system or similar component of an OWTS to determine the water absorption capability of the soil, the results of which are normally expressed as the rate at which one inch of water is absorbed. The rate is expressed in minutes per inch.

  • Penetrant means a lubricant designed and labeled primarily to loosen metal parts that have bonded together due to rusting, oxidation, or other causes. “Penetrant” does not include “Multi-purpose Lubricants” that claim to have penetrating qualities, but are not labeled primarily to loosen bonded parts.

  • Performance Tests means the tests to be conducted on the equipment at site for checking the performance parameters of the equipment as defined in Technical Specification.
