Payment Unit definition

Payment Unit means a planted area for which a planting payment certificate is created. Payment Units can be specified in the planting contract and may be further refined by the Recipient to address operational situations. The Ministry Representative can also create a separate Payment Unit as described in section 4.9.

Payment Unit. 004: Purchaser's operations are restricted during the period of 03/16 through 07/31 AND 09/01 through 12/14 (due to soils). Slash resulting from construction clearing shall be treated concurrent with operations. Slash Disposal treatment zones are shown on the Sale Area Map with symbol "SDZ." Other specific slash disposal requirements are as follows: All slash resulting from construction clearing (such as from landings, temporary roads, ROW clearing associated with pre-haul road maintenance requirements listed in CT5.31#), including Specified Road construction; shall be lopped and scattered to lie within 3 feet of the ground. All root wads shall be severed from the stem and righted on the ground or otherwise disposed of as directed by the Forest Service, concurrent with operations. Within Payment Units 001-004 except as specified elsewhere in this contract; all slash generated by the Purchaser's operations shall be evenly distributed throughout the Payment Unit and away from the base of residual trees, concurrent with operations.
