Payment Method Acquirer definition

Payment Method Acquirer means an entity that a Payment Method Provider has authorised to (a) sponsor or submit Transactions at the request of merchants to the Payment Method Provider for authorisation and clearing; and (b) receive and remit settlement funds for authorised and cleared Transactions.
Payment Method Acquirer means a financial institution that is authorized by a Payment Method Provider to enable the use of a Payment Method by accepting charges from Customers on behalf of the Payment Method Provider, and routing these charges to the Payment Method Provider. “Payment Method Provider” means the provider of a Payment Method, such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Payment Method Acquirer means a financial institution that is authorised by a Payment Method Provider to enable the use of a Payment Method by accepting Charges from Customers on behalf of the Payment Method Provider, and routing these Charges to the Payment Method Provider.
