Patient Information Leaflet definition

Patient Information Leaflet means any patient information leaflet included in a pack with the medication prescribed, administered and supplied to appropriate Eligible Patients by the Registered Medical Practitioner in the provision of the Service.
Patient Information Leaflet means the information pertaining to a medicine as provided for in regulation 12, written in a manner which is easily understandable by the patient;

  • The pharmacist must ensure that the patient is advised how to take/use the medication and is provided with a Patient Information Leaflet at all times.

  • Advice & Follow up:  Discuss side-effects and administration with patient and provide a manufacturers Patient Information Leaflet (PIL)  Advise patient that the infection can spread therefore need to wash hands before and after touching eyes and not to share towels, pillows etc.

  • Renal function and electrolytes every six months and more often during periods of illness • Consider referral where any significant decrease in renal function is noted • Record blood pressure and heart failure symptoms The Patient Information Leaflet for Entresto® should be provided to the patient at the point of dispensing.
