Pathological diagnosis definition
Pathological diagnosis means a diagnosis of an invasive cancer based on a microscopic study of fixed tissue or preparations from the hemic (blood) system. A pathological diagnosis must be determined by a physician who is also a board-certified pathologist and whose diagnosis of malignancy conforms with the standards set by the American College of Pathology.
