Passive open space means all common open space not meeting the definition of active recreational open space, including, but not limited to, critical areas and their associated buffers;

Passive open space shall have the meaning set forth in Section 7.4.

Passive open space means an area which provides visual relief to developed areas, exclusive of any area devoted to parking, vehicular movements, storage, private use (unless subject to development restrictions by a conservation easement), or any other area which does not significantly lend itself to the overall benefit of either the particular development or surrounding lands. Passive open space means open space that is used for relaxation, such as sitting or strolling. Facilities may include the following: plazas or medians with seating, a percentage of beach areas (sunbathing), picnicking areas, greenways and esplanades (sitting, strolling), paths, accessible restricted use lawns, gardens, church yards or cemeteries with seating, and publicly accessible natural areas used, for example, for strolling dog walking, and bird watching.
