Partial Denial definition

Partial Denial means a case where compensability is accepted but the claim administrator is initially denied all indemnity benefits and only medical benefits will be paid; also means a case where a specific indemnity benefit(s) was previously paid but subsequently denied, either in whole or in part. A “Partial Denial” is represented by a SROI Maintenance Type Code “PD”.
Partial Denial means the denial and non-reimbursement of portions of a medical claim submitted for services or supplies provided to a covered enrollee as specified in the plan documents.
