Parallel Running definition
Parallel Running means a process of running a new or amended system simultaneously with the old system to confirm that it is functioning properly before complete migration;
Parallel Running means a facility provided by a Communications Provider when any range of Telephone Numbers is in the process of being changed whereby, in order to assist End- Users of the Public Communications Network to adjust to such a change, an End-User may for a limited period of time dial a Telephone Number which has been superseded by another Telephone Number and still be connected to the Network Termination Point of the Called Party;
Parallel Running means switching new numbers on before number change day, so that old and new numbers are available in parallel. During the period of parallel running, calls can be completed successfully whether old numbers or new numbers are dialled.
