OU1 definition

OU1 means the surface and subsurface soil of the area located inside the red highlighted boundaries on Appendix A. OU1 is generally bounded on the north by East Chicago Avenue; on the east by Parrish Avenue; and the south by East 151st Street/149th Place on the south; and on the west by the Indiana harbor Canal.
OU1 means the area depicted in Appendix A to this Settlement Agreement and known as an area of PCE contamination.
OU1 means Operable Unit 1, i.e., the term used by DEC to describe the Site itself, and shall not include the Hudson River, the Hudson River bottom, or Hudson River sediments.

OU1 means the operable unit addressing groundwater contamination at the Site, as described in the OU1 Record of Decision.
OU1 means Operable Unit 1 at the California Gulch Superfund Site, which includes the Yak Tunnel and Yak Water Treatment Plant as depicted on the map attached as Appendix C and the work that addresses the discharge of acid mine drainage from the Yak Tunnel into California Gulch. The facilities within OU1 include the entire length of the Yak Tunnel; the Yak Tunnel portal; the bulkhead within the Yak Tunnel; external Yak Tunnel flow conveyance channels, ditches and pipelines; existing and future monitoring wells; the surge pond and Yak Water Treatment Plant.
