OTDF definition

OTDF means the electric PTDF with one or more system facilities removed from service (i.e., outaged) in the post-contingency configuration of a system under study.

Examples of OTDF in a sentence

  • Note that valid limits to the transfers tested would consist of those facilities for which a PTDF (power transfer distribution factor) or OTDF (outage transfer distribution factor) of 3% or greater exists.

  • The determination of additional loading that can be incurred on a Flowgate begins first with the determination of the maximum loading that can be allowed on a PTDF Flowgate or on the monitored facility of an OTDF Flowgate during its associated contingency.

  • Typically, new Flowgates should be either OTDF Flowgates with a TFC representing the total amount of power that can flow during a contingency without violating the emergency rating of the monitored facility or single facility PTDF Flowgates with a TFC equal to the normal rating of the single facility.

  • OTDF Flowgates will be analyzed with the contingent element out of service.

  • If you don’t wish to grant this license to us, use some appropriate public domain code.

  • For OTDF Flowgates representing thermal overloads, the TFC represents the total amount of power that can flow during the contingency without violating the emergency rating of the monitored facility.

  • The following requirements apply when adding a Flowgate to the list: - OTDF Flowgates may be added, provided that the contingency is valid, the TFC represents the total amount of power that can flow during the contingency without violating the emergency rating of the monitored facility, and no Operating Procedures apply to that Flowgate.

  • Examples of such Flowgates are PTDF Flowgates with two or more elements, OTDF Flowgates with three or more elements, or Flowgates involving operating procedures.

  • To be considered a valid limit to transfers, a Monitored Facility must have an OTDF at or above the applicable short-term or long-term threshold.

  • OTDF type Flowgates typically represent contingency based thermal limitations within the system.
