One Call or the “Firm” means One Call Insurance Services Limited; “Principles” means the Authority’s Principles for Businesses;
One Call is done to locate utilities, the Secondary Roads Department will perform the bulldozer work, clearing the fence, brush, and trees, and reshape the ditches. If there is a high bank that produces a snow trap in the winter, the Secondary Roads Department will cut the bank down. The property owner is responsible for providing a location for the trees, seeding, and fencing once the project is completed.
One Call means any system used by a state through which contractors and other excavators may alert the State and utilities to a planned Excavation and determine whether the planned Excavation is in an area where there is a pipeline, electric, gas or other buried conduit or utility.

One Call. REQUIRED. No excavation or activity listed in “A. GENERAL - 1. Encroachment Definition” above shall be performed by Owner in the vicinity of COMPANY’s facilities or within COMPANY’s Easement Tract until proper telephone notification has been made to the appropriate “One Call” system and a COMPANY representative is on-site to monitor excavation activities. All of the states in which COMPANY conducts pipeline operations have “One Call” laws, which require 48-72-hours notification prior to any excavation related activities. After making a One-Call, the state One-Call agency will notify COMPANY to mark accurately, in a reasonable and timely manner, the location of the COMPANY’s pipeline facilities in the vicinity of the proposed encroachment.
One Call. Location & Liability. Franchisee shall subscribe to and maintain membership in the regional “call before you dig” utility location service and shall promptly locate all of its lines upon request. The City shall not be liable for any damages to Franchisee’s Facilities or for interruptions in service to Franchisee’s customers that are a direct result of work performed for any City project for which Franchisee has failed to properly locate its Facilities within the prescribed time limits and guidelines established.
