Ocean dumping definition

Ocean dumping means the disposal of materials or pollutants without a permit into waters of the state. Ocean dumping does not include discharges of effluent incidental to the operation of vessels, the dumping of fish wastes, or the placement or deposit of materials on the sea floor for the purpose of enhancing fisheries.

  • Dumping means a private enterprise resident outside of the RSA market its goods on own initiative in the RSA at lower prices than that of the Country of Origin and which have the potential to harm the local industries in the RSA.

The term includes an approved program.
