obstacle limitation surface definition

obstacle limitation surface means a surface that defines the limits to which objects may project into the airspace;
obstacle limitation surface. – means a surface that establishes the limit to which objects may project into the airspace associated with an aerodrome, in order that aircraft operations for which the aerodrome is intended may be conducted safely, and includes a transitional surface, a take-off surface, an approach surface and an outer surface;
obstacle limitation surface. - OLS means:(a) the series of surfaces established by the Airfield operator in the airspace around the Airfield which limits the height above ground level of objects surrounding the Airfield; and(b) an object which protrudes through the OLS for an Airfield becomes an obstacle to the operation of aircraft at the Airfield.Appendix 2 contains the technical description and diagrams used for the purposes of calculating the OLS for the Kyneton Airfield. “Penalty Unit” means the amount prescribed by section 110(2) of theSentencing Act 1991 - 1 penalty unit is $100. “Policy” means a policy made by the Council or that Council is required to comply with in relation to its activities and where those specified activities and uses are regulated by this Local Law.

More Definitions of obstacle limitation surface

obstacle limitation surface means a defined airspace surrounding an aerodrome that is to be maintained free from obstacles so as to permit the intended aeroplane operations at the aerodrome to be conducted safely and to prevent the aerodrome from becoming unusable by the growth of obstacles around the aerodrome or other object which may penetrate the obstacle limitation surfaces in certain circumstances causing an increase in the obstacle clearing altitude for an instrument approach procedure and associated visual circling procedures, contributing to the aerodrome becoming unusable.
obstacle limitation surface means a surface that defines the limits to which objects may project into the airspace [Regulation (EU) No 139/2014];
obstacle limitation surface means the lower limit of the aerodrome airspace above which objects become obstacles to aircraft operations; and
obstacle limitation surface or OLS, means the series of surfaces established by the local government in the air space around an aerodrome which limit the height above ground level of objects surrounding the aerodrome and an object which projects through the OLS for an aerodrome becomes an obstacle to the operation of aircraft at the aerodrome;

Related to obstacle limitation surface

  • Friction surface means an interior or exterior surface that is subject to abrasion or friction, including, but not limited to, certain window, floor, and stair surfaces.

  • Impervious surface means a surface that has been covered with a layer of material so that it is highly resistant to infiltration by water.

  • Pervious surface means an area that releases as runoff a small portion of the precipitation that falls on it. Lawns, gardens, parks, forests or other similar vegetated areas are examples of surfaces that typically are pervious.

  • Emission limitation means a requirement established by the Board, the director or the Administrator, EPA, which limits the quantity, rate or concentration of emission of air pollutants on a continuous emission reduction including any requirement relating to the operation or maintenance of a source to assure continuous emission reduction (Section 302(k)).

  • Impact surface means an interior or exterior surface that is subject to damage by repeated sudden force such as certain parts of door frames.
