Normative Reference definition

Normative Reference means a document or standard not developed by the Working Group that is included by reference in a Final AVS Standard and for which compliance is required to claim compliance with the Final AVS Standard that includes the reference. A document or standard that may be useful for understanding, implementing or otherwise using a Final AVS Standard but for which compliance is not required to claim compliance with the Final AVS Standard is not a Normative Reference.
Normative Reference means a reference in a specification to an external document or resource with which the implementer must comply, in order to comply with a Normative Portion of the specification.
Normative Reference means a reference in a Standards Track Work Product to an external document or resource with which the implementer must comply, in order to comply with a Normative Portion of the Work Product.

Examples of Normative Reference in a sentence

  • Any normative references included in a Standard will be in accordance with the Normative Reference Policy set forth in Appendix A of this IP Policy at Annex C.
