In the event that a child has a vision impairment or hearing loss, the LEA may contact NMSD, and/or PEI, and/or NMSBVI for consultation and assistance with evaluation.
NMSD is not responsible for any computer or electronic viruses that may be transferred to or from the student’s data storage mediums and the student agrees to use his/her best efforts to assure that NMSD’s laptop computer is not damaged or rendered inoperable by any such electronic virus while in the student’s possession.

This prohibition includes while students are riding NMSD transportation, both to and from school and during activity trips.
If the equipment such as a laptop computer, and any accessories, are lost, stolen or damaged while in the student’s possession, the student is responsible for the replacement or repair thereof; and the student agrees to indemnify NMSD against any claim occurring during or resulting from the student’s possession or use of NMSD property, including, but not limited to any claim for infringement or violation of applicable trademarks and copyrights attributable to the student’s use of NMSD’s property.
NMSD will: Refer, with parent consent, to the NMSD Center for Educational Consultation and Training for School-Age Children Services (NMSD Outreach Program) and to the receiving LEA, Head Start, or other placement agency if placement is other than Part C services will end on the child’s third birthday.
