Nameserver refers to the nameserver function of the Registry and the nameservers that resolve DNS queries from Internet users. This service is performed by multiple nameserver sites that host DNS resource records. The customers of the nameserver service are users of the Internet. The nameservers receive a DNS query, resolve it to the appropriate address, and provide a response.
