Multi-storey building definition

Multi-storey building means a building of three or more floors (including the ground floor) above the lowest adjacent street level the principal purposes of which are: • To store or sell stock of goods and/or vehicles; or • To house persons for purposes of work or entertainment or residence; or • To contain plant, equipment or machinery. It does not include structures which are primarily civil or mechanical engineering structures, or installations, such as power stations, grain elevators and silos, oil refineries, wharves, jetties, piers, bridges, or pipelines, water storage towers, or the like.
