Mortal definition

Mortal means “subject to death”; “immortality” means “not subject to death”, “living for ever”. Leon Morris says the New Testament “understands eternal life not as the immortality of the soul, but in terms of the resurrection of the body.” In other words, those who trust in Jesus receive immortality at the Second Coming of Jesus. (More will be said about this in Topic 15.)
Mortal means living but subject to death. It’s not the resurrection. This is talking about right now, the Spirit of God actualizing in the experience of the believer the resurrection life of the Lord Jesus Christ. Chapter 6:13 says “Yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead.”
Mortal means ‘causing death’. A mortal wound, for instance, is one that causes death.
