Mokgatla definition
Mokgatla means any person who belongs to any Kgotla or Kgoro which makes up the Bakgatla Ba Mosetlha who recognises, accepts and subjects himself to the traditions, customs and customary laws of the BBM and pay allegiance to and respects the traditional leadership of the BBM. This includes direct and indirect descendants of the founding members of the BBM, any female married to a descendant of the founding members of the BBM and any children born of such a marriage, whether recognised in customary or civil law; any person born of a female whose father is not a Mokgatla but who accepts and submits himself to the traditions, customs and customary laws of the BBM and any person who successfully applies to be accepted as a Mokgatla who complies with all requirements set down from time to time.
