Misgendering definition
Misgendering means the act of referring to an individual using pronouns other than the individual’s declared gender pronouns.
Misgendering means willfully and/or repeatedly failing to use a transgender or gender diverse person’s correct name and/or pronouns, after being clearly informed of the correct name or pronoun.
Misgendering means using a word to refer to a person, especially a pronoun like (“he” or “she”) or form of address like (“Ma’am” or “Sir”) that does not correctly reflect the individual’s gender identity. This is particularly harmful to people who are transgender.
