The Mill Manager and the Union shall create a Plant Evaluation Committee which shall consist of not less than two (2) nor more than three (3) members representing the Union involved and not less than two (2) nor more than three (3) members representing the Company.
It shall be the function of the committee to study the effects these proposed changes will have on employment in the mill and to make such recommendations as agreed upon to the Mill Manager to ensure that the interests of the Company and the employees are fairly and effectively protected.
Leave of absence may be granted at the discretion of the department head except that leave of absence for more than two (2) weeks shall not be granted without the approval of the Mill Manager in writing.
Passes for visitors, Union officials and others will be issued by the Mill Manager.
The initial members of the Operating Council shall be the Production Manager of the Mill, the Mill Manager and the Mill Owner’s Vice President of Operations for the Mill Owner and the Plant Manager of the Carbon Plant, the Services and Support Manager of the Carbon Plant and Ingevity’s Vice President of Operations for Ingevity, or in each case a reasonably equivalent position designated by the Mill Owner or Ingevity, as the case may be.

If an employee should be discharged in a manner that he considers unjust, it shall be reported to the Vice-President and Mill Manager within 48 hours in writing excluding statutory holidays and weekends.

If the Director of Human Resources does not settle the matter in five (5) days excluding statutory holidays and weekends, it shall become a grievance and then be reported by the officials of the Union to the Resident Mill Manager in writing and the Resident Mill Manager shall give a written reply within five (5) days excluding statutory holidays and weekends stating the decision arrived at.
