Military Leaves definition

Military Leaves. Military leaves of absence shall be granted for teachers who are inducted or enlist for one (1) period of enlistment for military duty in any branch of the armed forces of the United States. Teachers on military leave shall be given the benefit of any salary increments which would have been credited to them had they remained in active service in the School District, and shall be reinstated upon completion of such service in accordance with Act 145, Public Acts of 1943, and with sick leave held at the start of the leave.

Military Leaves shall be granted according to the provisions of the U.S. Selective Service laws, any applicable Federal Law (i.e. USERRA). Military leaves are without pay; however, the Registered Nurse may choose to take Personal Leave.

Examples of Military Leaves in a sentence

  • Employees who are separated from the service by discharge under other than honorable conditions, bad conduct, or dishonorable discharge, shall not be entitled to any of the benefits of Section 3 through Section 9 of this Article (relating to Military Leaves Without Pay) except such vested rights as they may have acquired thereto by virtue of payments into their retirement accounts.

  • Short-term Military Leaves for active duty shall be granted only when satisfactory documentation is provided to show that the military requirements cannot be satisfied during vacation periods.

  • Long-Term Military Leaves Military leaves of absence without salary or benefits shall be granted to any L'Anse Creuse teacher who shall be inducted for a tour of military duty to any branch of the armed forces of the United States.

  • Except as provided in Section B, Family Care/Medical Leave, Section C, Pregnancy Disability Leave, and Article 21, Military Leaves, an employee who has been granted an approved leave with or without pay shall be reinstated to the same or a similar position in the same department upon expiration of the leave, in accordance with the Provisions of this Article.

  • Military Leaves for a unit member who has a minimum of one (1) year of prior service with the District and who is on temporary Military Leave shall receive his/her full salary for the first thirty (30) days of such leave.

  • In compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Right Act (USERRA), HMH will grant leave for Temporary (two-week) Military Leave for training and Extended (all other) Military Leaves.

  • Upon being re-employed after returning from Military Leaves, employees shall receive any vacation to which they are entitled to the extent that such vacation may be taken within the current calendar year.

  • Military Leaves will be granted under the terms of applicable Federal Law.

  • For all Family Military Leaves, employees should provide their supervisor with a copy of the written orders.

  • Employees granted Military Leaves who have reemployment rights under the appropriate Act and who do not apply for reemployment within the specified period shall be considered as resigned and the Military Leave terminated.
