Mileage charge definition

Mileage charge means the rate assessed by a surface or water ambulance service, measured in miles from the point at which the ambulance receives the patient to the point of final destination (loaded miles). When charges are to be computed for part of a mile, a fraction of a mile of 4/10 or less will be rounded off to the last whole mile and a frac- tion of a mile of 5/10 or more will be rounded off to the next whole mile.
