Medical emergencies definition

Medical emergencies means medical situations that would require the services of an “advanced life support technician.” ”Non-Emergency Code Yellow Response” means for the purposes of this Agreement a BLS level of service without lights and sirens in which the Contractor begins as quickly as possible to take the steps necessary to respond to the request from SFD. “Region” means the geographical boundaries of King County, Washington. “Request Received” means the point in time when the incident address is confirmed by the Contractor’s dispatcher. “Response Time” means the time interval from the time when the Contractor’s dispatcher receives a request for service to the time an ambulance unit arrives at the scene of the incident. “Unit Hours” means amount of time calculated in hours that a fully staffed and equipped apparatus is available for service.
Medical emergencies means an acute injury or illness that poses an immediate risk to a person's life or long-term health. Response to medical emergencies by first responders includes first aid, CPR skills and techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical care arrives.

Examples of Medical emergencies in a sentence

  • Medical emergencies are limited to a maximum of five (5) working days.

  • Medical emergencies and severe weather conditions are examples of situations when a flight could land, unplanned, in another city.

  • Medical emergencies for the employee or dependent shall be verified by a doctor's certification and shall include the anticipated duration of the medical emergency.

  • Medical emergencies will be evaluated by the superintendent and may be honored in some extreme situations.

  • Medical emergencies will be handled following practice site procedures for such situations.

  • Medical emergencies include serious illness or hospitalization of an employee or an employee’s close family member or chosen family member who the employee has or will have a responsibility to care for during that time.

  • Medical emergencies will be considered on a case by case basis with documentation of treatment.

  • Medical emergencies verified by the Company shall entitle the Company, at its discretion, to place the employee on medical leave.
