Manual Bypass Switch definition

Manual Bypass Switch. A manual bypass switch shall be used to isolate a static switch from its load and alternate power supply and to take it out of service without power interruption to the load. In so doing it will connect the load bus to the alternate source. It shall have make-before- break contacts so that power supply to the loads is continuous during switch operations. It shall be rated 600 volts, three-phase, 60 hertz and shall have a continuous rating equal to the inverter continuous output rating.
