Major Holiday includes the following holidays and five (5) days before and five (5) days after the date on which the holiday falls upon (For example, the Christmas Day (Dec. 25) holiday period would be from Dec. 20 – Dec. 30): New Year's Day, Memorial Day,Independence Day, Utah Pioneer Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Major Holiday. New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, when not occurring on a Saturday, are the only holidays on which collection services are not provided on the Day-Certain Collection schedule. Mattress: a large pad used as or on a bed, consisting of a quilted or similarly fastened case, usually of heavy cloth, that contains spring coils, includes all sizes and Box Springs.

Examples of Major Holiday in a sentence

  • The additional compensation payable for working on a Major Holiday shall be payable in cash.

  • Upon deciding the fixed hourly rate all Major Holiday supplement must be taken into consideration or paid separately.

  • Compensation for overtime worked on a Major Holiday is subject to the provisions of Section 20.03, Subd.

  • Major Holiday assignments will be rotated among employees each year.

  • Unless permitted by the operational requirements of the Medical Center where there are competing requests for Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, or Thanksgiving, a nurse shall not take more than one (1) of the three (3) Major Holidays in any one (1) scheduling year; nor, if there are competing requests, shall a nurse take the same Major Holiday more than once every three (3) years.

  • Use of EIT on a scheduled Major Holiday does not fulfill the obligation under this section.

  • Notwithstanding any other policies detailed in this Service Fee Agreement, fees for visits scheduled for the Major Holidays listed herein will be collected two business days in advance, and these Major Holiday visits must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled visit start time, or the fees for that visit will be forfeited, and a 25% Holiday Cancellation Surcharge assessed ($25/hour for every scheduled hour cancelled).

  • Major Holiday supplement shall be paid for work on major holidays.

  • Exceptions to this policy include the Customer’s service day following a Major Holiday.

  • Any permanent full-time police officer who works a Major Holiday will be paid one and one- half his/her regular hourly rate for all hours worked on a shift beginning on the holiday Payment will be included in the payroll for the pay period in which the holiday occurs.
