Lowest Floor Elevation (LFE) definition
Lowest Floor Elevation (LFE) means the measured distance of a building’s lowest floor above the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) or other datum specified on the FIRM for that location lowest floor elevations (LFE) of structures shall be the greater of two feet above the regulatory 100-year (1% annual chance) base flood elevation (BFE) for fully developed conditions or existing conditions in the watershed. LFEs for parking lots and open storage shall be at least two feet above the BFE. The LFE can be greater than the elevation calculated but it cannot be less.
