Lock (or lockset) definition
Lock (or lockset) means a keyed device complete with a cylinder, latch or deadbolt mechanism, and trim, such as knobs, levers, thumb turns, escutcheons, and the like, for securing a door in a closed position against forced entry. For the purposes of this chapter, a lock shall not include the strike plate.
