Location Information Server definition

Location Information Server or “LIS” means a functional entity external to the Next‐Generation 9‐1‐1 system, provided by telecommunications carriers, telephone companies, commercial mobile radio services and third parties which provide location information to the Next‐Generation 9‐1‐1 system at the time of an emergency call.
