Local checks definition

Local checks. A check is a local check if the first four digits of the routing number on the check is one of the following: 1030, 1031, 1039, 1110, 1111, 1113, 1119, 1120, 1122, 1123, 1130, Non-Local Checks: If the routing number on the check does not begin with one of the four numbers shown above for local checks, the check is a non-local check.
Local checks. (which now means all types of checks other than government, tellers, cashiers or certified checks – remember there is no such thing as a “nonlocal” check now): These checks must be available for withdrawal no later than the second business day following the day of deposit.
