Lice definition

Lice. Any student found to have pediculosis (lice) will be excluded from school. The school nurse will notify other school nurses when appropriate. The school nurse will instruct parents on the identification and proper treatment of lice and nits. School nurses will examine students, with parent(s) present, before reentry to school is granted. Shippensburg Area School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to students’ physical well- being, growth, development, and readiness to learn. The Board is committed to providing a school environment that promotes student wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary lifestyle practices that can improve student achievement. The schools will provide the parents with specific information regarding wellness to the parents within the first weeks of school. School employees are required to report suspected child abuse. School employees who suspect child or student abuse are required by the Laws of Pennsylvania to immediately notify the school principal. Upon notification, the principal shall report the suspected child/student abuse. Investigation of the suspected child/student abuse will rest with the appropriate County agency. Lice. If lice are found on a student at school, the parent will be called to take the child home. The student must be treated for lice and all nits removed before returning to school. Check family and treat as necessary. If a child has a re-occurring problem with lice, they must have a release from the Jasper County Health Department before returning to school. Examples of Lice in a sentence

  • All sexually transmitted diseases including but not limited to Genital Warts, Syphilis, Gonorrhoea, Genital Herpes, Chlamydia, Pubic Lice and Trichomoniasis.

  • The following list, while not to be interpreted to be all inclusive, are examples of communicable diseases: Aids, Chicken Pox, Measles, Head Lice, Hepatitis A and B, Meningitis, Mumps, Scarlet Fever, Strep Throat, Tuberculosis and Whooping Cough.

  • Head Lice – exclusion period is until the head lice have been treated.

  • Head Lice: Our head lice management procedure is obtained from the recommendations of the Will County Health Department.

  • In addition to any other restrictions set forth herein, unless otherwise specified in the Order Schedule, Software licensed under a Named User Lice se may only be accessed or used in the country where the Installation Site is located.

  • An employee's sick leave days shall not be charged for necessary absences resulting from childhood diseases, including, but not limited to, the following: Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps, Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Impetigo, Scabies, Head Lice, Pink Eye and COVID.

  • Head and Body Lice Children are excluded until treated and nits are removed from hair and clothing.
